Hi there, I’m Josh, a passionate designer (formerly a marketer) that loves to create not just experiences but things! Actual things! Many things, not just pixels on a screen but I love to build with my hands…even Ikea furniture and Legos. In fact, my fascination with building things out of legos is really how I found myself in UX. As a child I wanted to understand how things worked, so I put them together with legos to better understand how the pieces create the full picture. Now as an adult (an adult who plays with Legos) I find true enjoyment in solving complex problems for users and designing solutions through UX research and validation methods. My background originates in marketing so I do speak marketer but as I fell into UX design I also learned how to collaborate with teams from development, product, strategy, and customer success. My experience in UX has also led me to understanding how to work with teams from product, development, customer success, and growth and I’ve learned how to invite them all into the design process to gain insights from cohorts who see things far differently than I do.

For me, UX is about understanding others and helping them access their goals in a way that surprises them as well as delights them. In my eyes these are the Lego pieces waiting to be put together in order to make businesses, users, and the world at large a better place. Ultimately, I want to change the world with my research and design work and I hope that when I’m done, I can look back and leave the world better than when I found it. (and with more Lego spaceships)
